Wedding photographs are a wonderful way
to look back at your wedding. These snap shot images capture key
moments which enable you to turn the clock back and remember your
wedding day.
There are a number of different styles
which photographers may use to photograph your wedding. They include
Traditional or Classic, Photojournalisitc and Contemporary or Fashion
Wedding Photography.
It is difficult to appreciate the
different styles unless you view a portfolio of work.
Try and attend wedding fairs so you can
get a chance to meet prospective photographers and view their work.
If your budget will allow see if they
offer pre-wedding photoshoots. This would give you the opportunity to
get to know your photographer before the wedding day.
When you meet your photographer you
will have many questions to ask including, who will have the rights
to the negatives? How soon can you expect to have the photographs?
Will they be your photographer on the day or will there be somebody
else to take the photographs? Do they attend more than one wedding in
a day?
To avoid disappointment its important
that you discuss in advance with your photographer exactly which
photographs are to be taken on the day, rather than assume they will
be taken. As in the case of Contemporary wedding photography this
style does not produce formal portrait shots. If this is something
you wish to have in your wedding album then discuss this with the
photographer.
