A considerable amount of work goes on
behind the scenes involving the Bride and Groom and their wedding
attendants in order for the wedding day to run smoothly and according
to plan.
Therefore its good etiquette for the
Bride and Groom to show their appreciation to the wedding attendants
by presenting them each with a gift.
Traditionally Bridesmaids would be
presented with jewellery or glass trinket boxes, which were engraved.
The Best man would have received cigars in a case or a watch which
too would be engraved. The Pageboy and Flower girl depending upon
their ages might have received cuddly toys or again a piece of
jewellery perhaps a watch for the Pageboy and a necklace for the
Flower girl both of which would have been engraved.
It is customary to present wedding
attendants with their gifts during the speeches. It might also be a
nice idea for the Bride and Groom to exchange gifts to be opened on
the morning of the wedding day. The gift could be a piece of
jewellery that you may wish your partner to wear or perhaps a love
letter expressing how much they mean to you and how you are looking
forward to marrying them.
The above mentioned gifts are all
rather traditional but if you are looking for something a little
different then why not give an experience as a wedding gift. If you
look for an experience that the receiver is sure to appreciate then
the memories will be happily everlasting.
