Wedding Balloons
Balloons may well date back as far as the Aztecs when, it was believed, they used cat intestines filled with air and twisted into shapes. They were then placed next to food and offerings and burnt in honour of the gods! These are a far cry from the balloons that are used in today’s celebrations – thankfully!
Since 1931 the party balloon made its first appearance in the shape of a cats head and very soon an assortment of shapes were available and used mainly for advertising.
Today there is a huge selection of all shapes, sizes and colours and balloons can be blown, twisted and shaped into an array of art forms, figurines, placed on tables and used as decorations around the room.
A simple room can be transformed into a wonderful fairy-tale land for a wedding with colours that compliment the bride’s flowers or dress.
Helium balloons can turn a ceiling into a starry pattern of bright sparkly colours to be released when the bride and groom have their first dance cascading them with smaller balloons and/or confetti.
Numbers and letters, balloons in a box, stars, hearts, round and square are only a very few of the shapes offered and foil and latex from every colour imaginable can be obtained.
Inside or outside, balloons can be placed almost anywhere to decorate and enhance your venue.
Balloons can be used for a wide variety of things, from decoration to placing favours inside. They can be filled with helium and released by the bride and groom at the reception and placed inside could be an email address asking those that find the balloons to let you know how far it had travelled. A small gift of a slice of your wedding cake or one of your favours can be offered as an incentive for them to let you know.
